Frequently asked questions

Answers about planning a pony, donkey, small furry or mobile farm booking across Essex and surrounding areas.

Planning your experience

Everything you need to get started

Which areas do you cover?

We attend bookings across Essex and can often travel into nearby areas, including parts of Hertfordshire and the wider South East. Send us the event postcode and we will confirm travel and availability.

What types of events do you attend?

Bookings can be suitable for birthdays, schools, children’s groups, weddings, village and school fetes, fairs, corporate family days, community events and private celebrations.

How much does an animal experience cost?

Prices depend on the animals, activities, duration, location, travel, guest numbers and event setup. Contact us for a tailored quotation.

Which animals can we book?

Current experiences may include Shetland ponies, donkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs and rats. Reptile experiences are planned for the future. The final animal line-up is confirmed for each booking.

Can we request a particular animal?

You are welcome to tell us which animal you would love to meet, but attendance cannot always be guaranteed. Animal health, temperament, rest and welfare must come first.

Can the experience take place indoors?

Some small-animal experiences may be suitable indoors if there is enough safe, quiet and accessible space. Pony and donkey bookings generally need suitable outdoor access and ground. We will assess the venue before confirming.

How much space do you need?

Space depends on the animals and activity. We may ask for photographs, measurements or a venue plan and will confirm access, parking, enclosures and visitor flow before the event.

What happens if the weather is unsuitable?

Weather and ground conditions can affect animal travel and activities. We will agree the most suitable wet-weather, rescheduling or cancellation arrangements as part of your booking information.

Are animal interactions supervised?

Yes. Guest interactions are supervised and adapted to the animals, activity, venue and people attending.

Who can take a donkey ride?

Rider suitability depends on confirmed age, height, weight and ability requirements, as well as suitable ground, weather, event setup and the welfare of the donkey. We will explain the current limits before a ride booking is confirmed.

Do guests need to wash their hands?

Guests should wash or sanitise their hands after animal contact and before eating. We will confirm the hand-hygiene setup and organiser responsibilities in the booking information.

Can you adapt a visit for SEND guests?

We can discuss a calmer pace, smaller groups, reduced noise and different ways to take part. Tell us what would help your guests and we will confirm what can be reliably provided.

How do we book?

Send your preferred date, postcode, event type, timings, estimated guest numbers and the experience you are interested in. We will check availability, discuss the setup and provide a quotation.

How far ahead should we book?

Early enquiries are recommended, particularly for weekends, school holidays and busy event periods. Contact us as soon as you have a likely date.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation, deposit and rescheduling terms are supplied with your quotation and booking information so you can review them before confirming.
